Kidnappers Abduct Housewife in Niger, Release Her In Maiduguri

MAIDUGURI: A housewife, Habiba Usman who was abducted in the Tunga area of Minna, the Niger State Capital has been found in Borno, Maiduguri state.

Reports indicate that Habiba was released by her abductors in Maiduguri, Borno state on Wednesday and was reunited with her husband by the Borno State Command.

According to the Police, Habiba was discovered at the Kano Motor Park, in Maiduguri Metropolis by workers of the National Union of Road Transport Workers.

“The attention of men of the command was drawn on Wednesday, at about 1400hrs, by the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, a woman named Habiba Baffa, was found in Kano motor park

during profiling, it was discovered that she was abducted by four unknown gunmen to an unknown destination only to find herself in Borno”, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Abdu Umar told newsmen.

According to Habiba, she was kidnapped at her house in Minna on Sunday only to wake up and find herself in Maiduguri.

Habiba disclosed that as she abductors had collected money from her while she was abducted and also asked for ransom before she was released.
