Aisha Adamu Ahmed Killed as FUT Minna Registrar’s Car Crashes After Tyre Burst
A woman has died while two other persons including the Registrar are receiving treatment following a road accident along the IET New Horizons Road in the Old Airport Quarters area of Minna, Niger State.
The accident reportedly occurred when a vehicle driven by the Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Mal. Danladi Mallam, suffered a tyre burst while in motion.
According to eyewitness accounts, the vehicle lost control and ran into a woman who was standing beside a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as an Okada rider, while reportedly negotiating the fare for a trip.
The Registrar’s brother was also reportedly inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Residents and other people in the area who witnessed the crash immediately assisted in evacuating the victims to a nearby Primary Health Care Centre in Old Airport Quarters, Minna, for medical attention.
The woman, however, was later confirmed dead at the health facility, while two other victims are still receiving treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including the condition of the vehicle and the exact cause of the tyre burst, could not immediately be independently verified.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and establish the circumstances that led to the fatal crash.
