FMC Bida To Construct N500 Million Trauma Centre

BIDA: The Federal Medical Centre, Bida has announced plans to construct an ultra-modern trauma centre.

The project, according to the Medical Director of the facility, Dr Usman Abubakar would be constructed at the rate of N500 million.

Abubakar who disclosed this in Bida during the FMC’s 2022 stakeholders’ meeting said that the centre would enhance timely response to trauma and accident victims.

According to him, the FMC was located on a strategic road where accidents occur frequently.

“It is aimed at improving service and prompt attention to accident and trauma victims.

The Mokwa to Bida to Agaie to Lambatta road is a very important highway and accidents are recorded on it,” he said.


Abubakar noted that the centre’s current management was working on addressing the challenges it inherited from previous management.


He said that the centre would soon deliver on the construction of 36 staff quarters, to ease the challenge of accommodation for staff.


He stated that the centre was also working on enhancing administrative operations and service delivery in the facility through the adoption of ICT.


He further disclosed plans to construct a school of health technology and a nursing school on the permanent site in the centre.
