460 Police Officers Promoted in Niger state

MINNA: Some 460 officers have been decorated in Niger State, having been promoted in the recent promotion exercise approved by the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman.

The officers were decorated at the Niger State Police Headquarters in Minna on Tuesday.

Those promoted include 336 Inspectors elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and 62 ASPII promoted to the rank of ASPI.

Others include, 61 ASPs promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and one Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) promoted to the rank of an Assistant Commissioner of Police.

Speaking shortly after decorating the officers, the Niger state Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas said that the promotion as approved by the IGP was aimed at enhancing the welfare of its personnel in the country.


In their appreciation message, the newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and Second In-Command, 2i/c Kontagora Area Command CSP, Isah Adejo pledged the commitment of the promoted officers to their duty in the state.


He also commended the Inspector General of Police for finding them worthy of the promotion.
