An unidentified man has been found dead inside an uncompleted building in the Albishiri area of Chanchaga Local Government Area, Niger State.
Residents discovered the body hanging in the building according to community leader Dangana Abubakar.
He noted that this is the second time a dead body has been found in an uncompleted building in the area.
Abubakar said the deceased has not yet been identified and urged residents to remain calm while authorities investigate the incident.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said police received a report of the incident at about 7 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the police, preliminary observations suggest the case may be a suicide.
The Chanchaga Local Government Social Welfare Department has been contacted, while investigations continue.
