Players representing Suleja Local Government in the ongoing Niger State Governor’s Cup tournament are currently stranded after being involved in a road accident while returning from Borgu, where the competition is taking place.
Reports indicate that the players had allegedly not been provided food for two days, with sources claiming their last meal was on Thursday. The lack of welfare support is said to have left many of them weak and exhausted before the journey.
While no player sustained injuries in the accident, the incident left them stranded without transportation or financial assistance. The team members are now appealing to Suleja Local Government authorities and relevant sports officials to urgently come to their aid.
