The Executive Secretary of the Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Makun Lapai has announced that the Board will sell out the slots of those intending pilgrims who failed to meet the payment deadline.
Lapai stated this during a meeting with area Pilgrims welfare officers in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Lapai said that this decision followed the inability of some intending pilgrims who had paid last year to pay up the remaining balance of the stipulated Hajj fare.
Lapai noted that the two weeks extension given to pilgrims to offset their balance has since elapsed and the state government would not want to lose out on the allocation cut out to it by the federal government.
Lapai also noted that any intending pilgrims who refuse to take the COVID-19 jab in Niger State would be excluded from participating in the exercise.
He said that compliance with the directive has become necessary given the impact of the virus in the world.
